The UEFA have rescinded the red card that Pierre Webo was shown during the postponed Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir on Tuesday. The UEFA confirmed that the former Cameroonian international will be present when the game will be resumed on Wednesday at 5:55PM.
The Istanbul assistent was shown a direct red card following his reaction to alledged racial abuse from the fourth official Sebastian Coltescu. After the incident the players of the Turkish champions left the field and refused to continue the match. The game was then postponed and will be continued on Wednesday. The UEFA have flown in Dutch referee Danny Makkelie to lead the game.
The UEFA have now also released a statement that they will be fully investigation the incident before making any comments: “In accordance with the Article 31(4) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been appointed today to conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding the incident and the events that led to the UEFA Champions League group match between Paris Saint-Germain-İstanbul Başakşehir FK being abandoned. Information in regards to this investigation will be made available in due course.”
