Donny van de Beek‘s agent Guido Aalbers has hit out at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for not allowing his client to move clubs during the summer. After a disappointing first season it was expected that the former Ajax midfielder would make a transfer. Despite his marginal role, Solskjaer refused any approach for Van de Beek, who is now set to stay at United until at least January.
This season Van de Beek has not seen any action in the Premier League as the midfielder remained sidelined in all of United’s first three matches. “There was a lot of interest from Italy, Germany, England, so that looked good. But you need co-operation of the club, and it looked like they would, but ultimately they didn’t,” he told Voetbal International.
Aalbers now hopes that Van de Beek will get his chances from Solskjaer. “Assuring for him, so that he will get his chance, and will get his minutes, but this will become clear in due time. He’s been promised that before, but we came to a clear agreement about this with the club, so we have all faith that it will happen now.”
