The Brazilian FA are not happy with Liverpool trio Fabinho, Alisson Becker, and Roberto Firmino. The three players were not released by the Reds for the international matches this week due to COVID-19 regulations. People who travel from the United Kingdom to countries that are on the ‘red list’ have to quarantine for ten days on their return.
As a result, many Premier League clubs refused to release their players for international duty, including the three Brazilians. The Times reports that the Brazilian FA has now made contact with the world footballing government FIFA to ‘punish’ Liverpool for their stance. They asked the FIFA to implement a ‘five day’ rule that bans the trio from playing for their club after the international break for five days.
If the FIFA accepts the demands of the Brazilian FA, the three players will not be available for Jurgen Klopp’s squad against Leeds United. Without the three Liverpool players Brazil did not have any troubles claiming their seventh victory from seven games in the South American World Cup qualifying group. Brazil have a six point lead on rivals Argentina.
