Real Madrid will have to ‘pay big’ to sign Mbappe on a free transfer

Kylian Mbappe - France

Kylian Mbappe still hasn’t signed a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain and it seems very likely that the France international will be joining Real Madrid in either January or next season. The forward’s contract will run out next summer, making him available on a free transfer. However, if Madrid do sign Mbappe from PSG, the Spanish club will still have to pay a serious amount of money to get their man.

Mbappe is set to become the hottest player in the world as he will be allowed to talk to other clubs from January 2022. Meanwhile Madrid are doing the best they can to make sure he picks a contract in Spain ahead of lucrative contracts from the Premier League. Marca has described that Real are prepared to offer Mbappe a smashing €80m signing bonus if he accepts their multi-year offer.

The potential offer made by Madrid would also make Mbappe one of the best paid players in the world with a yearly wage that would exceed the incredible salary Lionel Messi earned at Barcelona. They would then also offer Mbappe hefty performance related bonuses and loyalty bonuses, making it possible that the total worth of the deal would reach the €500m to €750m.
