A setback for FC Barcelona and Ansu Fati as the forward has suffered a setback in the recovery of his knee injury. The Spanish club hoped that Fati would be able to return to full fitness during the international break in September, but according to Marca the youngster will need some extra weeks to fully recover from the surgery to his knee.
According to AS, medical specialists at Barcelona are not prepared to take any risks with Fati as the youngster has been out for almost a year. When he suffered the injury to his knee it was expected that he would be out for six weeks at most. Ten months later he needed four operations on his knee. Over the past few months Fati worked under supervision of Barcelona on his recovery in Madrid.
The newspaper has made the prediction that Fati will return to full training in October. He will need to complete a couple of training sessions before he will be allowed back in the match squad. As a result, Fati will most likely miss the start of the Champions League campaign against Bayern Munich and the second match against Benfica. In LaLiga he will miss the game against reigning champions Atletico Madrid.
