Paris Saint-Germain have received an offer to sell Neymar this summer, reports Le10sport. New FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta made an official approach for the Brazilian, just weeks before he signed a new contract with the Parisians. The report suggests that the offer was around €80m, which is about €140m less they paid to sign Neymar in 2017.
Earlier on Laporta did acknowledged that Barcelona were interested in bringing Neymar back to the Nou Camp this summer, but that the financial situation of the club made a transfer impossible. “We tried to sign him. At the time we interpreted the financial fair play rules of LaLiga differently. If we had known more about the financial situation we would have never made him an offer”, Laporta told Esport3.
The report from Le10Sport has now confirmed that Barcelona did made an offer for Neymar ahead of the summer transfer window and that the offer was immediately rejected by the Parisians. Moreover, at the same time PSG were preparing a contract offer for Neymar while the Brazilian was asked to persuade Lionel Messi in joining the French giants.
